His wife, Washboard Breezy Peyton, stands like a soldier who’s first in line and rips out hyper rhythms on her washboard. And drummer Aaron “Cuz” Persinger’s three-piece drum set includes a flipped over five gallon plastic bucket.

For the next two days, Friday September 9 and Saturday September 10, North Park will become the center of the San Diego music industry universe as the San Diego Music Thing comes to town. Entering its fourth year of existence, the Music Thing is a gathering of San Diego’s finest musical talents. It’s a huge block party that features over 150 bands playing in bars, restaurants, night clubs and street corners throughout North Park.
