Colin Clyne – San Diego Music Award Nominee

San Diego Music Awards 2011

Colin Clyne is a Scottish singer songwriter who has been nominated for this year’s Best Acoustic Artist at the San Diego Music Awards. Clyne has a very straight ahead delivery and a heartfelt depth to his material. I got a chance to track him down and ask him a few questions before he went overseas to play a few gigs.

How do you feel about being nominated?

It’s an absolute honor to be nominated in amongst fine musicians for an award won by the likes of Jason Mraz and Jewel!

How long have you been playing in San Diego?

Since 2007

Do you play live mostly in San Diego or do you tour the country?

I play occasionally in the San Diego area and tour the Country, up and down the West Coast and I tour back in the UK (Scotland) regularly!

Do you have a favorite place to play in San Diego?

House of Blues is cool, for a more intimate gig I like a wee place like the West Coast Tavern in North Park.

If you could have one famous rock star join you on stage who would it be and what would he or she be playing?

Bob Dylan playing pots and pans and Neil Young on the washboard…….what a trio!

Hey, throw this guy a vote here. He deserves it!
