It’s the 2012 San Diego Music Thing!

The San Diego Music Thing comes around once a year and features some of San Diego’s finest bands doing their thing for two nights throughout town. If you are a musician, wannabe musician, industry insider or just want to hear about where the music industry is at these days, this is the place for you.

Located at the Lafayette Hotel, the Music Thing will take place Friday, September 14th and Saturday, the 15th. Workshops and panels start up at 11:30am on Friday and then at 10:00am on Saturday and run until 6:15pm. Buy a badge for the day (2-day $50, 1-day $30) and not only do you get access to all of the workshops and panels, but it also gets you into any of the 150 performances. A little heads up if you are grabbing the 1-day, Chuck D from Public Enemy will be the featured speaker Saturday night!

The Lafayette offers a laid-back atmosphere for the two-day event. Happy hours around the pool, pop up concerts (last year I saw Low Volts do a set poolside) and of course, access to the legendary Red Fox Room which is attached the Hotel.
